Rupali Ganguly’s lawyer Sana Raees Khan reveals stepdaughter Esha Verma has NOT responded to Rs 50 crore defamation notice

Sana Raees Khan, the lawyer of Anupamaa actress Rupali Ganguly revealed that the actress opted to take this drastic step after her stepdaughter, Esha Verma, maliciously labelled her 11-year-old child as illegitimate. Esha has yet to respond to the defamation notice, although she has since deleted the contentious Instagram post.

In an interview with News18, Sana Raees Khan explained that Rupali Ganguly decided to send the notice, emphasizing that the false and malicious allegations by stepdaughter Esha Verma have inflicted immense emotional distress and mental anguish on her.

Sana stated, “Esha Verma has not responded. However, she has deleted all defamatory posts and removed one account following our notice, which serves as an acknowledgement of her wrongdoing. Rupali felt compelled to take this serious action when Esha maliciously labelled her 11-year-old child as illegitimate, and the situation escalated with a string of constant defamatory and derogatory posts that undermined Rupali’s character.”

She further elaborated, “It was necessary to send the notice given Esha’s ongoing pattern of posting baseless and defamatory content, which attacked Rupali’s reputation and character. Esha crossed all boundaries by targeting an 11-year-old child and calling him illegitimate. The stepdaughter’s false and malicious claims have caused significant emotional distress and mental anguish to my client. These groundless accusations not only challenged her integrity but also damaged her reputation, leaving her profoundly hurt.”

What happened?

The conflict began earlier this month when Esha, through interviews and her Instagram account, criticized Rupali and made several allegations against her. On November 10, Esha posted a lengthy video on Instagram discussing her half-brother Rudransh, prompting Rupali to respond with a ₹50 crore defamation notice. In the wake of this, Esha deleted the video and set her Instagram account to private.

About Verma family

Esha Verma is 26 years old and resides in New Jersey, USA, and is the daughter of Rupali’s husband, Ashwin, from a previous marriage. Ashwin and Esha’s mother, Sapna, were married in 1997 and separated in 2008. Rupali married Ashwin in 2013, and they share a son named Rudransh.
